Abstrak

THE INFLUENCE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND LEADERSHIP STYLE ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY OF MANUFACTURING COMPANIES IN THE BOGOR REGION

This study aims to analyze the effect of emotional intelligence and leadership style on employee performance in manufacturing companies located in the Bogor region. Manufacturing companies were chosen as the research object due to their work characteristics, which include strict production targets, high work pressure, and the need for strong coordination and teamwork among employees. These conditions require employees to effectively manage their emotions and leaders to apply appropriate leadership practices in order to support optimal performance. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with an associative approach. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 100 employees working in manufacturing companies in the Bogor region who were selected as research respondents. The data analysis techniques included validity testing, reliability testing, descriptive analysis, classical assumption testing, and multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing in this study was conducted partially using the t-test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This finding suggests that employees’ ability to recognize, understand, and manage their own emotions as well as the emotions of others can improve work quality, timeliness, and the achievement of work targets. In addition, leadership style also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, where the application of transformational leadership is able to enhance employee motivation and create a conducive working environment. Therefore, emotional intelligence and leadership style each play an important role in improving employee performance in manufacturing companies in the Bogor region.
