Abstrak

EXPLORATION OF STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING IN ACCOUNTING THROUGH COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING AT SMK BOYOLALI

This study aimed to analyze the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills in accounting subjects through the implementation of the Collaborative Problem Based Learning (CPBL) model at SMK Negeri 1 Boyolali. The problem addressed in this study was the low level of students’ critical thinking skills in accounting learning. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class XI AKL 2 selected using cluster sampling technique. Data were collected through critical thinking skills tests and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the implementation of the CPBL model significantly improved students’ critical thinking skills. The percentage of learning completeness increased from 22.22% in the pre-action stage to 50% in cycle I and 80% in cycle II, exceeding the success indicator of 75%. In addition, all indicators of critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation, showed improvement. In conclusion, the CPBL model was effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in accounting learning.
