Monitoring Inhouse Programs and Competitor Comparison by Content Analyst to Improve Content Quality at Starpro
Television remains one of the main sources of entertainment in Indonesia, even as digital media continues to grow rapidly. The industry’s need to maintain content quality makes analysis and monitoring processes increasingly important. This study discusses the role of the Content Analyst at Starpro, a production unit under MNC Group that focuses on infotainment programs such as Obsesi, Go Spot, and Seleb On News. The Content Analyst si responsible for monitoring inhouse programs through minute-by-minute (MBM) analysis and comparing performance data with competitor programs to improve content quality. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methode through active participation and analysis of monitoring data and performance reports. The Quality Control theory is used to explain the monitoring process of program perfromance, while the Continuous Improvement theory through the Kaizen and TQM approaches, is applied to illustrate how monitoring results and competitor comparisons are utilized for continuous content improvement. The results show that minute-by-minute monitoring helps identify the most engaging segment for audiences, especially those highlighying recent and conroversial public ussues. In addition, competitor comparison supports the formulation of strategic adjustments in topic selection, segment structure, and content presentation.
