Abstrak

IMPLEMENTATION OF AUDIOVISUAL MEDIA-ASSISTED PROJECT BASED LEARNING MODEL IN POETRY TEXT WRITING SKILLS IN GRADE VIII STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 1 LENGAYANG

This study aims to describe and analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by audiovisual media in improving students' poetry writing skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects of the study were 30 students of class 87 of SMP Negeri 1 Lengayang. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, and analyzed using an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by audiovisual media is able to improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes of poetry writing. This improvement is indicated by the active involvement of students during learning and the achievement of learning outcomes with a classical completion level of 75.8%. In detail, students' abilities in determining themes reached 83.3%, the use of diction 73.3%, the development of imagination 70%, and the structure of poetry 76.6%. The findings of this study confirm that the Project Based Learning model assisted by audiovisual media is effective as an alternative innovative learning strategy in improving students' poetry writing skills.
